Therefore, trying to make general rules based on who was selected in previous years to predict the profile of those who will be selected next makes no sense. It makes even less sense considering that each year, the profiles of the applications received change completely and are not the same from year to year!

So, for example, if an artist from your country is selected almost every year, it does not mean that this will necessarily be the case next time. Conversely, if no one from your country has yet been selected as a finalist, it does not mean that no one from your country will ever be selected in the future.

As the Luxembourg Art Prize is a competition where only talent matters, the Selection Committee does not consider age, gender, nationality, or the country of residence of artists when reviewing applications. This information is useful for statistical purposes only and these statistics on applications received are transparently communicated to the public on the website.

Believe in your talent and work on it every day, for it is only your talent and the quality of your work that will make the difference!
