Each edition of the Luxembourg Art Prize is independent. As a result, trying to come up with a general rule of thumb based on who was selected in previous years in order to try to predict the profile of those who will be selected is pointless. It makes no sense as the application profiles change completely and are never the same from one year to the next.
For example, if an artist from your country is selected almost every year, this doesn’t mean this will always be the case. Conversely, if no one in your country has ever been selected as a finalist, this doesn’t mean that no-one from your country ever will be.
As the Luxembourg Art Prize is a competition based solely on talent, the Selection Committee does not take into account age, gender, nationality or the country of residence of the artists when submissions are being examined. This information is only used for statistical purposes and the information received in applications is published on the website.
Believe in your art and work hard every day. It is your talent and the quality of your work that will make all the difference!
Whether you are tall, small, young, old, yellow, black, green or red has no importance! And, if you’re not very photogenic, that’s not important either!
